Alex Salmond, Scotland's First Minister, viewed Oceanflow's mono-turbine E35 when opened TRESTA – The Renewable Energy Skills Training Academy. TRESTA is based within the premises of Steel Engineering's Renfrew facility where Oceanflow's E35 unit is under construction.

Graeme Mackie, Oceanflow Energy’s Managing Director had an opportunity to present to the First Minister the E35 unit under construction and to discuss the tremendous potential for floating moored tidal devices for exploiting the deeper water sites around the Scottish coastline where the bulk of the UK’s tidal stream energy exists and for which Evopod technology is specifically developed to exploit.
